The New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College brings hundreds of dignitaries and politicians to the city annually, most notably for the New Hampshire primary presidential debates, which have been held at the college since 2004. The Saint Anselm College and Saint Anselm Abbey have been an important presence in the town.
